Oh, Before the"M" rating it was S.M.A. {suggested for mature Audience} I have a one-sheet or two with that on it. {Probably,Something like Bonnie&Clyde}.
TLSLOEWS,yes it means “M” mature. then it was changed to GP which really confused parents.{see PAINT YOUR WAGON,Daniel Village theatre} then PG,which made sense. When they got to PG-13, I think I was out of the theatre business.
The opposite would be seeing “JEREMIAH JOHNSON” on the big screen outside. All the snow in that movie showed every crack in the Drive-in screen, drove someone like me nuts. Heck, i can spot a wad of gum on an indoor screen that no one with ever notices,Guess it comes from 7 years in the business.TLSLOEWS.remember CUE marks.Rookies today, have no idea what CUE marks are.

Graeme McBain,I have tried to put together a history of theatres from Hendersonville. All are on CT. It would great if you were able to add to them. i think you had a QUEEN THEATRE in that town.
Wait Don’t do it!If you can’t get the facts right it ain’t worth getting “called on the carpet” for a mistake and believe me if some guys and catch a small mistake i made on a few Augusta theatres, just think you being in a larger city they will eat you alive. I am a Scorpio.{not that i give it any creedence]
He was a union Projectionist and like i wrote above worked on “LAST AMERICAN HERO” filmed in that area and made moonshine on the side. I was told the owner of the Diane 29 came home and found his family murdered and the next day closed the drive-in which I am told was named after a daughter. Is the BELMONT DRIVE-in going to open this summer< Iheard the lady that owned it,and I met her several times in the past when we would visit CAROWINDS and John Mackey, had died. She was a nice lady, even though I thought they should put some money in the place to fix the snack bar and restrooms.
Glad to come across this theatre been by it a bunch of times on the way to Hilton Head.Stopped a few times and snapped some pictures. I noticed no marquee for movie titles, guess there were a few theatres like this one.
