Anyone that worked at Plitt Theatres needs to go to REMEMBERING PLITT THEATRES on Facebook,there you will find other old employees talking about the good old days,thanks guys.
Great stories, that Billy Jack flick was a dog, we got stuck with hundreds of Billy Jack Hats at the IMPERIAL in Augusta,bet this twin had the same problem….
Yeah, Chuck and Joe sometimes small time operators really clam up when you visit or call, other times they will talk and talk,Onions are the main deal there, not movies.
What a great story,read so much about Drive-ins that are open, but look like a dump,it is good to put money back into the theatre,doesn’t look like a mom and pop operation,Great looking marquee.
The Number One drive-in and Skyview Drive-in were also close to this Drive-in,I think it opened during the craze,and once the church crowds left,it closed.traces of all three drive -ins are there if you look,had a friend that even found some old carbon arc rods thrown out in the back.
Please let me add THE IMPERIAL in Augusta,open and the 1500 seat MILLER Theatre across the street is now saved and getting ready for a make over…..

one of the largest in town parking 750 cars ,it was owned by Wilson,Weaver,and Assocs.in 1956.Elvis Time.
My 1956 almanac backs up Vincent’s 410 on parking.It was run by Cook and Abernathy.
