It would be a long shot,but if the Lafayette local paper had morgue they might be able to locate the times that Flatt&Scruggs played at the CHEROKEE.At least you could get the ad printed in that day’s issue.But most likely,the paper was a weekly. Still I am sure they ran movie ads.
The old carbon arcs with the 20 minute reels are in the booth. However,one projector was moved from its position.I think they are still in the booth.
Tim Campbell,the stage manager who like to show a film series.They have a nice Video set up,that when Tim ran a movie for me this old theatre dog was impressed since i am pro 35mm film,not discs,but it looked good. HE said LETTERBOX movies cause problems,because people think the movie is cut. I suggested using a masking like we did at GCC when we showed scope.

Just heard from old projectionist,Bill Barkley,that another group of employees is putting together another NATIONAL HILLS THEATRE REUNION. This group came in after I was long gone.

Ruth Northington,Manager of the Joy Drive-in Died early this year.She had been sick for several months and had 6 major operations in the last month or so.So many Moviegoers in Hendersonville knew her and her husband Jim.
J. Warren Jackson, 83, Owner and Operator of the KNOX THEATRE passed away Jan. 28 2010. His very first job was working at the KNOX THEATRE.It was a love that stayed with him. He was a banker in the town of Warrenton.
The Noyo Theatre has reopened under the management of Frank Hughes,who operated the movie house three years ago. First run movies will be played. {Boxoffice March 4 1974}
That HAVCO INTERNATIONAL PICTURES recently screened “THE BOOTLEGGERS” at the PLAZA. It was showned to a private audience mainly of bookers. And a film like “THE BOOTLEGGERS” should do great in that area. {Boxoffice March 4 1974}

Georgia Theatres GOT all the UA product..It was nice when you could sit in a theatre all day if one wished.
