Local citzens of Harlem,Ga. have done the same thing to the COLUMBIA theatre there. As hard as i have tried,i cannot get any of the locals to get on CT.
Ed,a friend found a picture of the Miller in an antique store in downtown Augusta.“A HARD DAY’S NIGHT” was playing. He made me acopy of the Picture. I wish I had a scanner to put it on CT.
I found quite a few “LET IT BE” one sheets at the Miller when we were paided to clean up the downstairs dressing rooms for the Opera in 1984. I am sure “LET IT BE” played there, and maybe “YELLOW SUBMARINE” since i also found material on that film in the Basement.
ahhh,Chuck 1231, what good old theatre.During the late 70’s and to the middle 80’s it did good business. I snapped a few pictures there while working there.
Good luck getting anyone from that small town to help you.The Rosa Drive -in ,and Park Theatre are also there. The Rosa, long gone,The Park Theatre was being used as a playhouse last time i was by there.
I talked with Tim Campbell,Stage manager, and he is hoping with sponsors he can return movies back to the Imperial.Hopefully running alot of the early classics.Since the opera and Augusta Players have gone to another theatre,Tim wants movies back on that screen.
1964 First Run “THE BEATLES” tower over the movie on the MILLER marquee,“A HARD DAY’S NIGHT”,over flowing crowds surround the box office and the side walks of Augusta.

“RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK” still running strong. It is on its 10 th week. Could it beat “STAR WARS” here on the same screen? I don’t think so.

Playing, probably third run,“OUTLAND” last show was at 10:00pm. and all seats were 99 cents, the writing on the wall.End of a great Theatre is coming.
