The Majestic had a pretty nice “classic” cinema marquee, and must have been something to see lit up at night. it appears to have already been closed at the time of this photo though.
Lost, check out the Majestic Theater page….since the email notifications links were broken, I don’t think you have notifications turned on yet for that theater, but I am sure you will be eager to see what’s posted there:
Thanks so much! Yeah, it certainly looks more like a factory than a theater it once was, but it probably wasn’t all that ornate to begin with, even when it was a theater. It has the high ceilings, etc still though from what it appears, and would be fairly easy to convert back to a theater use, which probably would be good for the community. Some of the performance groups, musical groups, art groups, etc are performing out of converted storefront/loft space, so this probably would be a step up for many of them.
This would be wonderful if this theater may be able to be brought back to theater use. With all going on in Bushwick culturally lately, it seems like it would be a good use….for performance space, musical groups, artsy movies, etc.

I usually wind up going here on rainy days if in the disney area, and I guess everyone always has the same idea, as the place was packed when I went there back in january….almost uncomfortably so as almost every seat was filled!
They have built an apartment house on this site.
That is terrible news Bruce. The longer it sits empty, the worse this will get.
At least the lobby portion of the Aster appears to be a chinese restaurant. I don’t know what the auditorium is today:
