Randy A Carlisle commented about Ideal Theatre on Jan 18, 2021 at 12:18 am

This photo… Ideal Theatre, located at 4306 (Original address is 4304) Bryan Street, in the East section of Dallas Texas. Closed. “Opened in 1916 as part of Ed Foy’s Neighborhood Theatre chain, the 550 sear Ideal Theatre was popular with children & adults alike. During WW-I, the theatre invited recently returned servicemen to speak about their experiences "over there”. On October 26 1928, a fire blazed through the Ideal, igniting reels of nitrate film & collapsing the roof. The building was repaired & has been used for various purposes, but never again as a theatre.“ Information taken from the Arcadia Publishing Book "Historic Dallas Theatres” by D Troy Sherrod.. Today, it appears to be occupied/used as a Church. Update! Today (July 2019), it’s now known as Dallas Carpet & Fine Floors.. Open.. The Structure was built Circa: 1916/1919. dcad.org* Photo Taken: August 8 2014 Photo Taken By: Randy A.
