Noticed in my COLUMBIA SQUARE 1 and 2 journal that WEIS DRIVE -IN is playing SIDEWINDER ONE with C.C. and COMPANY with ANN MARGRET and JOE NAMATH. Might be one time the second feature is better? C.C. released in 1969?
COLUMBIA SQUARE CINEMAS is playing DAY and DATE with a South Augusta DRIVE-IN.
COLUMBIA TWO We are getting SIDEWINDER ONE a movie about motocross. I just don’t see any business.Plus we will play day and date with the WEIS DRIVE-IN. Just why are we getting this film?
COLUMBIA ONE we playing BREAKING AWAY which is about growing up in a small town and a bicycle race. What i see it looks like a good movie.But good movies like this hardly sell out. 1979
1975 Saw TAKE A HARD RIDE with Jim Brown,Yeah, It is a black film, but it is a pretty good western with Lee Van Cliff. it is doing no business.I don’t understand why everything the black filmgoer has to view is SUPERFLY.Here is a pretty good western and it is dying. The One sheet is going home with me,Great art work.
Word is we are getting a PG version of MASH. That is right,A PG version. Will adults care or even remember the 1970 was a R RATED film. I think the first run was here. {NATIONAL HILLS]
Nick, Sean said screens at EVANS 14 are equipped to run 35mm or over the Digital system. I guess one day 35mm will be a thing of the past. I always enjoyed watching them build a film.any clips went in my hand. I have a BOX full. THEY have two Digital theatres.
John Mackey has decided to show JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR on our weekend late show. 1974. He might run into trouble with the churches in town,but like he said its a late show. { 2009 i think it did pretty good business}

Dear Mr. Woods:
on my return to Athens found a letter awaiting me from the Public Health. stating they had checked the STATE and RITZ theatres and giving us hell, which was entirely in line. On the way we are handling POPCORN at both these theatres. They state that anyone can reach in with their hands. I am asking you to install any glass in doors or at sides that might be out. Also the popcorn pots must be cleaned and kept in that condition.
Until you put both of these machines in shape I am going to ask you that you make no further sales of popcorn.
Very truly yours

1977 MacArthur opens with Gregory Peck at Masters 4. I had hoped we would get it. I did see it there and it was a cheap rip off no where near PATTON.It never came to COLUMBIA 1 and 2 theatres.
1976 FAMILY PLOT opens at the IMPERIAL.IT is an ALFRED HITCHCOCK movie so there will be a built in crowd.I think it would do great at NATIONAL HILLS,but like LEWIS keeps saying he needs something beside SHAFT movies. {2009 sadly it was HITCHCOCK’s last movie and it did not live up to his standards. BRUCE DERN was great in it according Jim. {JIM NEELY DOORMAN and big Bruce Dren fan}
Well, I saw DELIVERANCE and thought that would do it violence wise, but we picked up {I THINK FROM MASTERS 4 } MIDNIGHT EXPRESS and i could not believe the graphic scenes in this movie. Playing in COLUMBIA ONE.
COLUMBIA TWO We have SGT.PEPPER and man the only good thing is STEVE MARTIN. I am pushing him on the marquee.
COLUMBIA TWO don’t like picking up second run from WEIS CINEMAS but HEAVEN CAN WAIT is a great movie.My mom loves it and she can’t stand movies today with the bad lanuage.
