I read that avatar special edition 3d is not playing at this theater…just the regular edition. Parsippany is showing it.

Here’s the reason why…

I asked a question to AMC Theatres on facebook and they told me to ask the manager of the theater, who usually makes the decisions. Maybe you should ask the manager, JJD.

I wanted to see “Avatar” in IMAX 3D in extended but that’s not the case.

WHAT! “Avatar” will not be on the IMAX screen but “Inception” will. The movie is down to No. 9 on Box Office Mojo. Who’s the brain behind this decision?

BTW, showtimes are greyed out for movietickets.com at this theater. WHat’s up with that? I’ll ask them on facebook.

I know. I’ve seen it before in other movies that are converted into 3D from 2D, such as the reissue of Nightmare Before Xmas as well as Up 3D. Other movies that are shot in 3D, such as Avatar and Despicable Me, are very bright and deliver punch-out images to the human eye.

Saw 9:40am showing of “Piranha 3D” yesterday. The movie itself was a real trip, delivering the goods. Only problem was not enough light projected. Indoor scenes were dark and outdoor scenes darker than usual. This is the first time I’ve seen a RealD movie that was this dark. Gotta do better than this, especially with the already loss of some light that 3D glasses cause.

According to Movietickets.com, Hubble 3D will play at this theater starting Friday. There are two showtimes for the movie for the weekend, and they occur during the late morning, early afternoon. I think Inception will fill in the rest of the schedule for the IMAX theater until Avatar Special Edition comes next weekend for several weeks before Resident Evil 3D comes out. I’ll probably see it in 4k 3D rather than liemax 3d since the IMAX 3D is a blown-up version of the 3D film. If that movie doesn’t do well in 3D, then maybe that movie with the CGI owls will do well. It could do for snow owls what Happy Feet did for penguins.

One film that I’m not going to see is Jackass 3D. THe first movie was pretty funny but the second one sucked. Nobody wants to see people do dangerous stunts in 3d as it might be too scary for the faint of heart. Slimshady, any news on the all-digital conversion of this theater? Garden State 16 has 15 digital, one 35mm, Clifton Commons has a bunch and others 35mm, and Essex Green is being renovated into an all-digital fork and screen, forcing people to go to the one digital screen only East Hanover or the two digital screen Loews Wayne.

How about this story…someone puked during an IMAX 3D showing of Avatar at this theater when it first came out….must be because of the trippy visuals.

Hey Mike, I’m still laughing…eye boogers. Where did you come up with that one? I also heard that story on the risks posed by dirty 3D glasses. They must have been referring to IMAX (they’re not wrapped in plastic; rather, they’re supposedly washed). The RealD glasses shouldn’t be a problem. We’re supposed to be getting a fresh pair each time. Maybe some 3D hater made up that story.

Keep me laughing!!!

Okay,JJD.most of the time I am hooked on CT,but if you guys watch that much 3-D you might want to check for eye boogers!LOL.

Hey Justin, when would you being seeing “Step Up 3D”? I could actually see this one again and have yet to meet the “King”?

Hogwash…you believe everything you hear on cable news? How about dirty arm rests, door handles into the theater, handling money at the ticket counter and concession stand, people coughing and sneezing, etc. Why not just live in a plastic bubble and practice “safe life”?

Mike Rogers
Mike Rogers on August 12, 2010 at 5:25 pm

Yep.It won’t be long before one of you break the 2000 mark. Saw on CNN that people are getting pink eye from wearing 3-D glasses not cleaned. Be careful.

I never seen all three Step Up movies…but I’ll give this one a shot if its still playing in 3D.
