There is a Home Depot on the adjacent property, which used to be a golf course. I imagine that most of the ramshackle motels on the Pike will be gone soon. Many of them have been closed and deteriorating for years.
Some of these sites, not waymarking particularly, tend to come and go. I think photobucket has a better chance of sticking around without the link disintegrating.

It wasn’t that source, as far as I recall. My source didn’t give a location, just the photo.

Absolutely right. I failed to notice that the 81 opened in 1946. My mistake.
You may also recall the restaurant across the street from the McKee City Zaberer’s. It was called Charlie Pumpernickel’s. Also gone now.
