We don’t have too many photos of this theater, so I’ll take what I can get. I often have lunch at the Subway immediately adjacent to the architectural atrocity that replaced the Town.
Here is another exterior photo. I think this was a revival showing of Godfather 2, not the original run, as it would have played for more than two days: http://tinyurl.com/yrcwsf
I remember this theater from the early eighties. The area around Reading Terminal was pretty shabby at that time. It appears that there have been a lot of improvements since.
Here are two interesting views from the Philadelphia Architects & Buildings site. The first is an architectural rendering. Note the different spelling. The second is a 1941 photo from the Irvin Glazer collection: http://tinyurl.com/2ubcn5 http://tinyurl.com/33hksc
This is a photo from the Philadelphia Architects & Buildings site. The quality of the photo is not the best, unfortunately. Since Frank Rizzo was running for mayor, as seen in the second floor placard, the shot may be circa early 1970s. The photo is from the Irvin Glazer theater collection: http://tinyurl.com/yst3vn
Here is a photo, circa 1945. The film being shown is “Love Letters”, with Jennifer Jones and Joseph Cotten. The photo is from the Irvin Glazer theater collection: http://tinyurl.com/28kfeo
This book about Bordentown states that the theater was first the Bordentonian, then the Fox and last the Sharon. I’m not sure if this link is going to hold up: http://tinyurl.com/2rfgj4

Here is a new addition from the LAPL. The Town is visible on the east side of Hill Street:

It said “Wilkommen”, which is welcome in German. Maybe they were having a German film festival.

Here is an undated photo. The comment on the marquee was photoshopped in by the person who took the photo:

Frank Caliendo is the guy that does the John Madden impressions on the football pregame show.

“God’s House” is also at this address. A church, I assume:

I like marquees. It’s subjective.
That’s a good question. Hopefully someone has an answer.

I also noted the Dix Drive-In in Bordentown, presumably gone by now.
I think it’s just a playhouse, no movies.

This looks like a playhouse, but then again they may be showing the Rocky Horror film, or perhaps a stage version. I can’t tell from the website.
