Thanks TheatreOrgan,thanks for your input also,I always enjoy the stories on C.T. of people who worked or where patrons of the theatres,most people would not care for these stories unless you worked or loved the business.Hope you had a Merry Chrismas.I also like the behind the scenes stories.I drove by this theatre a couple of days ago and from the outside every thing is still standing,I do not know about the inside,thanks for responding to my comment.Hope you have a good new year.
Merry Christmas to anyone who may read this. I worked quite a few Christmas' and other holidays in the theatre business,as this was a busy time for us back then. The last year I worked for Loews 1981 they did let us close early and not show the last show on Christmas Eve that year, only time that ever happened.We never closed for anything.Funny you mention being off on Mondays Mike as that was my day off too for years,only after I made Manager of this theatre my day off was on Wednesday I believe and on Friday I would go the the bank and do the weekly reports and checks but someone else would open and manage the theatre that night so I had Friday night off. Managers always had to work Saturday Night.Even when I was the Asst. Manager at the downtown Loews Crescent our city Manager would come back before the last showing till we closed and just hang out.He would also go to the suburb houses at night after opening the Crescent several times a week.I guess that was part of his job, he would also have to come when the District Manager from Dallas would pop in about every 3 months. Sorry for my rambling but no one seems to post on this page anymore.At least Chuck does not post on this page and can complain about turning this into a personal BLOG what ever that is?

We did the Will Rogers fund at our theatres also,I never liked it too,good thing it only happened about once a year.
