Can’t believe that this restored theatre with organ will now become retail office space. I plan to write the folks at this theatre before day’s end (Jan. 31) and try to knock some sense into them so I sure hope others will, too!

The Arcada theater even as recently as the 1980s still had an organist on Friday nights. Don’t know if they still do, but as a kid this was the coolest connection to theater past. I do remember seeing some first run movies there, perhaps even the movie version Annie.

The “Firm” was W.P. Nelson of Chicago.
They were hired by Lester Norris in 1925
to build the Arcada.
