From what I gathered, the theatre opened in 1998 two years before the old Cineplex Odeon 12 (opened in 1981) closed down in 2000, which is now occupied by a Gap store. Cineplex reclaimed the site through the sale of Famous Players in 2005.
Looks like Landmark can’t touch that theatre (I doubt Rainbow Cinemas would pick up the scraps left by SC, for instance, Carlton was saved by Rainbow).
Theatre now officially named Cineplex Cinemas Scarborough today. The remaining Coliseums in Bayshore-Ottawa and Kirkland would join in the rebranding along with the Colossus Theatres as Cineplex Cinemas.
I was involved in the rebranding stages during my co-op placement there over the course of the fall last year such as the repainting, renovations, etc…
However Mike, the signs and employees refer to it now to reflect the changes. It remains internally Coliseum Scarborough (for the time being) until the rebranding.
As told above that it listed as Cineplex, it should be given a proper name: “Cinéma Banque Scotia Montréal” and was formerly operated by Famous Players as Mike said from June 1999 until the merger in 2005 as Paramount Montreal (until the renaming in 2007).
Don’t forget Queensway/VIP and SC Brampton.
The Xscape Entertainment Centre was recently opened and now has every format available: RealD3D, IMAX, UltraAVX, and DBOX.
Silvercity Fairview recently added the Xscape Entertainment Theatre as of now. So long Techtown.

As far as I understand it, the Allenby/Roxy Theatre has been retooled as an Tim Horton’s and an extension of ESSO as of 2014.
The “Demolished” section should be removed.
As far as I know, since I came to this neighbourhood in 1999, there was a bridge connected to a plaza and No Frills.
Now renamed to Cineplex Cinemas Ottawa along with Scarborough as of March 2014. Kirkland carries the last Coliseum name.

Sorry Mike, made a small error. Construction began in 1996, but opened Christmas 1997.
Coliseum Scarborough Cinemas was renamed Cineplex Cinemas Scarborough late last month as the exterior signage was installed in the last week.
Now named Cineplex Cinemas New Minas after this theatre was one of the 24 sold to Cineplex since Empire bowed out of the film exhibition business.

Correct name should be Cineplex Odeon Sunridge Spectrum Cinemas.
Official name should be Cineplex Odeon International Village Cinemas.
The name should be titled Cineplex Odeon Varsity & VIP Cinemas.
Correct name is Coliseum Ottawa Cinemas
