Found this link after reading the CT news story about the organ out of this theatre and is now in Mass. being restored by the Chevalier Organ Society. I don’t believe the Chevalier Theatre in Medford Mass. is listed on CT.
The site that features the demo photos is down and I’d like to view them though it is never easy to look at such mistakes! Can anyone find and post them?
Interesting to note that at least this DeAngelis had an organ. My hometown theatre did not. Also interesting to read in an earlier post on this link are the following words…..“He was still living until a few years ago, at least.” I wonder if he is still living as of this date? I’d sure like to talk to him, if possible!
Lost: THANKS! I found it and am thrilled to learn more about this theatre architect who is forever responsible for designing my hometown theatre…unfortunately he is gone and so is my hometown art deco theatre! Of the 10 DeAngelis theatres listed on CT I think only 2 have been demolished.
Penner: Any further information you can give me on Michael DeAngelis, architect would be greatly appreciated as I am researching my hometown theatre, the Grand in Westfield NY for a local project though not to rebuild the Grand, unfortunately unless a group of us hits the lottery!
Lost Memory: This theatre has similar round circles as found in other DeAngelis designed theatres. On Feb. 25, 2008 you posted photos of the Warsaw Cinema designed by DeAngelis, but they can not be viewed and I’d love to see the art deco similiarities to my hometown theatre built by DeAngelis.
If it was a club at one time, the slanted floor was probably leveled. Hope someone posts on the current status of this art deco theatre that was and should still be in Hornell. Was or is there a theatre in nearby Arkport NY?
OK…will do! And speaking of photos when will the add a photo feature be reinstalled on CT? I and a former manager would like to see a photo added of our hometown theatre, the Grand/Westfield NY.
And since a movie was in progress I wasn’t able to see the auditorium design with the house lights up, but will this summer when I head to the Hamburg Fair entitled “Love a Fair” this year.
And to read about this grand and opulent theatre that was once in Dayton Ohio, but was eventually demolished truly breaks my heart.

The Oscar Glas murals sound intriguing!
Lost: It does seem that this theatre will be renovated and not restored though both are far better than demolished.
I know that Michael DeAngelis is listed on CT as building 10 theatres so it is fascinating to compare the similar theatre styles.
Lost: Great photo showing the curved marquee that is very similar to the one that was on my hometown theatre marquee.

Lost: Ironic that you added this theatre and it turns out to be a Michael DeAngelis designed theatre! Great minds think alike!

I see that architect, Michael DeAngelis designed this theatre along with my hometown theatre, the Grand/Westfield NY.
Any photos…interior and exterior? I know folks formerly from Akron and I’ve been to the town though it was prior to getting the theatre “bug”.
Is this theatre closed or demolished? I hope not the latter?
BillKays: Please email me @ since your email is not available on your CT profile page. Thanks.

ken mc: Interesting ad, but so was the article nearby entitled Pastor Is Under Observation After Appearing In Nude!
Lost: My thought, as well.
And sure would love to see some interior photos then and now!
I hope the City of Binghamton has started to restore this unique theatre!
Those are interesting photos with a share marquee…never seen that before though it may exist elsewhere.
I simply vote for the name Angola Theatre!
