One of the most beautiful proscenium designs in the history of the movie palace. The whole place a masterpiece. I am sure Gloria Swanson shed a few tears when this place came down.
A newer very hightech theatre in Seattle is the Majestic Bay in Ballard. Ice blue verticle opening waterfall style curtain that opens twice at the start of each film presentation. The 2 theatres above the main auditorium have no curtain. This theatre is very elegant compared to any other movie theatre in Seattle. I miss the concept of using a curtain. It is like the art of tea. It is a new built from foundation theatre.
Good design in redo. Art moderne look. Great lighting. Similar to the old Crest in Seattle. My local theatre of choice in the 50’s. 2ND AND 3RD AND THEN 1ST RUN FILMS. Still going strong.
This is so wonderful. To save the great art deco interior for the bookstore. Classy approach. Most retail business would not be this sensitive to an historic building. Colors and design inside is quite handsome.
I hope the rounded box office was not changed. Very retro and handsome. Line of kids right out of Father Knows Best or Leave It To Beaver. Great pic. Chrome palace!
This is what I remember of this theatre. 2nd run films. 3 features often. Horror, Science Fiction and later Porno for years. Now a restored auditorium and live entertainment. Cheers to the Embassy. Who would have thought it would have come back from the dead.
Elaborate and elegant still. A treasure for Jersey City.

The ceiling dome is beautiful and the lighting too. Buildings like these should always be preserved for the ages.
Proscenium is elaborate and lovely here. All else too.
Art deco handsome auditorium. Great organ grills and proscenium. Ceiling is handsome too.

Classic and handsome theatre. Hope it retains this look.
Incredible art deco interior with such great detail.

Ceiling treatment is so art deco. Rounded corners and looks like indirect lighting. Subtle design.
Great art modern exterior. Post art deco. Box office is wonderful and marquee too. So classic.
Could double as a church on sundays.
I hope the rounded box office was not changed. Very retro and handsome. Line of kids right out of Father Knows Best or Leave It To Beaver. Great pic. Chrome palace!
I would like to see the interior of this small town gem. It is obviously in need of repair but has a lot of style anyway.
Two dramatic deco structures. Aqua or teal paint on theatre is perfect for original time period.
The most beautiful and elaborate theatre in Seattle. Still wowing the city every day!

A dramatic art moderne/art deco masterpiece. Tragedy it is gone. What a waste!
What a fun and dramatic marquee. Doors are stylish too.
Must have been handsome at one time. Now a confusing mix of styles and colors. Should be restored.
Great marquee and neon.
Curtain is handsome and faux balconys and entire proscenium. Beautiful theatre.
This elaborate and dramatic theatre should be saved and promoted. Historic work of cinematic design.
Great this lovely theatre has been restored from the sad modern coverup of the past.
