Actually the roof was fixed a few years ago. I am going to suggest to the head of the committee that they hold a rally. I am also on the committee to save the Trylon in Rego Park, Queens. They are planning a rally on the 27th.

Can you give us any idea of the history? It may also help to find if any famous people worked or went to the theater. I am also on the committee to save the Loew’s Kings in Brooklyn where people like Barbra Streisand, and Sylvester Stallone were ushers.
The roof has been fixed, and they may need to get rid of the water damage. I haven’t been in the theater since I was young so I only know what I saw on the internet of the interior. However, I do know from the head of the Friends of the Kings Committee that the roof has been fixed.

It made need a little patchwork, but I don’t think the building is about to collapse. There is someone interested and looking at the theater with the head of the committee to save it. Furthermore, work has been done on the building, including the roof and shoring the facade. In other words, the building is not exactly ready to fall down.
My family wants to move to Staten Island, if a committee is formed to save the Lane, I will gladly join. I am on the committee to save several theaters already
You don’t have to give money, bruce1 on the Loew’s Kings section or this site can help. Let’s just say we know a guy who is forming a committee to help the Kings. He can probably give you contact information on that section. If you are still interested then you can go to /theaters/1360 or contact him at and get the info.

If you liked the old Brooklyn Movie Houses and was involved in television, I know someone who is trying to restore the Loew’s Kings, and is the producer for a local Brooklyn Cable Show. He was the producer of Wonderama. I can place his E-Mail here for you if you like. Please RSVP on this board.

I am on the commitees for several theaters including this one and the Loew’s Kings in Brooklyn, /theaters/1360 ,and if anyone from Brooklyn crossed the Queens Border, and went to the Trylon (I only went to theaters in Brooklyn and Manhattan) they may be interested in saving both.
Too bad the theater closed before the Broadway Musical version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang because it could’ve premiered both the film and stage versions.
Maybe I should tell you all that Bruce 1 emailed me that he has another person looking at the theater for possible restoration. If I recall, I suggested to him that he try showing the person the Loew’s Jersey. What do you all think of this idea?

New York needs a Christmas Show on a stage to compliment the one on the streets, so I hope there won’t be a strike.
Other than the marquis, is there any sign of the theater? I mean is there anything in that Modell’s that hints there was a movie house there?

I was never to the Albany Palace, but judging by those early photos it must have been a beauty.
