Ed Wood filmed most of his classics in the Los Angeles area, so it’s a good possibility that the scene was filmed in the Monterey. He probably finagled the use of the theater from someone as a favor.

When I was in college in the early 1980s, Admiral Wilson Boulevard was notable for the astounding number of adult businesses as well as ladies of the evening that would board the municipal buses trolling for customers. Ah, memories.

That is an amazing photo. It puts the local megaplexes to shame.

Based on the preceding post, the status should be Open, unless it has closed since last January.

Is there any confusion here between this drive-in and the one in Daly City? The pictures from the Daly City drive-in clearly show the adjacent Cow Palace and a grandstand.
