Did Sid Grauman build the Million Dollar, the Chinese, the Egyptian and the Metropolitan all at the same time? Wasn’t this shortly before the Depression? I wonder how he managed the financing.
Here are three interesting photos from the LA Library. One is a good view of the interior. The last picture shows the theater at the end of its life, being encroached upon by the twentieth century.
I haven’t had cable for a while. The last movie channel that I used on a regular basis was the Z Channel. I must have taped a thousand movies off of that channel.
Here is another theater in Whittier which I don’t think is listed. The theater was originally called the Wardman, then later on became a Pussycat Theater. Its current status is unknown. The theater was in Whittier, somewhere.

There aren’t too many pictures of this theater in existence, as far as I can tell, even though it’s one of two on Main Street that are still extant.
