Sure. I remember the filling station along side Parkside.I used to work there. It was not part of the theatre and shoppes.Much later it became a small used car lot.
The assistant principal of York High School in Elmhurst also worked there
part time. That was a while ago.
I remember the real estate office on the Parkside shoppes. The barber shop on the Main St.side of the theatre and shoppes.Art and Vi’s restaurant on the corner of the theatre and shoppes.

Robert. The last operator/owner of the theatre just bastardized the theatre. He just poured concrete down the 2 main isles to make ramps. Then painted the concrete. He even poured concrete right on top of carpeting.
In an attempt to save some of the restoration costs,a team of volunteers broke and removed all of that concrete. There were piles and piles of concrete that were removed.

I remember the days when going to the Dupage Theatre you actually got to see two full length movies. In between movies there were really great live acts. The Theatre was always packed on Friday and Saturday nights.Parking was always hard to find.People sometimes had to park a long way from the theatre.I always wondered why there was no balcony. That would have made it really great.
It would be great if this theatre could be restored to it’s original beauty and charm.

True class. As usual you are wrong.I am who I am.Just duper supporter. I have no other identity. But if you want to believe that I am all of those others SO BE IT.I will humor you.Have it your way.I really don’t care.

Dupe neighbor.Spare me your little knowledge of TIF.
The TIF was to be used to finance the restoration of an historical building.Yes an historical building in the “very” heart of Lombard’s historical district.
It’s amazing. The TIF money needed for the rejected RSC proposal would have been only $4 million .Oh my gosh. That is only 40% of the total cost for the restoration.Oh my gosh. That sure is is a far cry from 70%-80% of the costs.Isn’t it?
BTW .What do consider the “fiscally appropiate” use of TIF MONEY?
BTW.If TIF is not on your or my tax bills ,then is it a tax?

Dupe neighbor.Do you see a TIF levy on your realestate tax bill?I don’t see one on mine.
REALLY.You had better try harder. You flopped on that one.

Thanks for your observations. No tax dollars were ever planned for the restoration of this theatre. We never wanted or planned to restore and operate the theatre with taxpayer money.

CT2 I guess that is your way of saying “Concerned taxpayer2” does not know the answer to my question “what taxpayer intervention”?
What a pathetic display of FOOT in MOUTH.You and your group are always saying that the taxpayers will have to pay for the restoration and operation of the theatre but you can’t answer as to HOW.
Once again the TRUTH RULES…..The short of it is “you and your group of theatre haters” have no idea of what you are talking about.

The Truth. Whatever made you decide that true class “isn’t telling the truth here”? true class wouldn’t recognize the truth if it was before his or her very eyes.Dupage dude has EXPOSED TRUE CLASS AS A FRAUD and a liar.
No surprises there. The good news is that everybody knows it.

Can someone please explain why someone is making “false” charges of sexual harassment against another who may or may not be posting messages on this website? Why is it allowed on this theatre preservation website?
Moderator. You really need to put a end to all the nonsense!
That is serious business. It doesn’t belong on this website.

In lieu of “rental” income from the shoppes.Don’t be ridiculous. You know the plan.RSC is the developer.Oh wait a minute. You have that Norwood developer and RSC mixed.Norwood got all of the sales tax rebates and restaurant tax rebates plus TIF rebates.Forgetfull aren’t you?
Please answer the question.“What "taxpayer intervention”?
Key word" …WHAT"
