Westwood was great in the mid-80s, when I used to go. It was a combo of the tourist getting shot and killed in the village in 1988, and the SM promenade gearing up around the same time.
Mike Rivest gives an address of Phinez at Route 25 on his site-scroll down to the bottom. Also, shouldn’t there be an aka of US 25 Drive-In? http://tinyurl.com/y8n5gsb
I found 1963 and 1970 editions for $5 apiece at a used book store. Larry Edmunds Cinema Bookstore in Hollywood has a 1935 FDY, but they want $125 for it. Amazon also has some for sale online.
If you use 89 W. Broad you will see the church on Google maps. The building and its neighbors correspond with the photo mentioned above, although the theater marquee is long gone.
This would be at the corner of Shattuck and Vine. There is a multi-story building on that corner now that has an Earthly Goods store facing Vine Street.

The theater does not map out to the address on 110 S. Bell, for reasons unknown. Here is the pre-fire view:

I would rather see a movie on the giant video screen in the new stadium. With full sound and 70,000 people, imagine a film like 2012 in that venue.

Unless there has been some recent activity, the Sunset is still there. Status should be changed to closed.

Never should have put Drexel on the marquee. Bad luck.

Here is a more recent photo. The address should be changed to 6th and C Streets.

I am here for a holiday matinee. The theater is very clean and well-maintained.
