Robin, Cathy worked at the Imperial? Let her know.I am 99% sure I will there.
The doors to Paul Simon Theater at Ft. Discovery open at 5:45PM. The movie starts at 6:30PM but make sure you are at the theater by 6:00PM as we will have the red carpet walk. You will definitely want to stay around after the movie as Thom Bresh will take the stage and perform a tribute to his father. Merle Travis.
It will be so exciting to have past employees of Augusta’s downtown theatres in the house!!
That sounds like fun…I’ll have to see if I can make it.
Miller t shirt???
Bill’s memory is AMAZING!!! Last time we got together he was telling stories about me that I didn’t even remember until he started telling them! Since he won’t come on C T, I hope he is writing everything down somewhere…
Hope you all have a nice time!!
I plan on going.Hope Robin and maybe some of the gang will see the ad in the paper.Been wanting a MILLER T-Shirt.
What times the movie start Mike?
Ed if you have any Questions on the Downtown Theatres here,Bill Barkley is the only remaining Projectionist alive.I will be glad to pass Questions off to Him .He really enjoys your interest in the IMPERIAL.
Thank you, Mike Rogers and Bill Barkley.
Robin, this would be agreat time to get some of the gang from the Imperial to attend. I will call around and hope it is an open date and folks haven’t started vacations.
If I can make it to the Simon Theatre i will bring an item or two I saved from the Miller.
Ed Blank….Bill Barkley said “CAT BALLOU” and"SHIP OF FOOLS" played as a double Feature at the IMPERIAL in 1966. He took his wife and they saw both.It was before became a Saturday and Sunday Relief Operator. What a memory.
Augusta Amusements is screening another classic movie at Ft. Discovery’s Paul Simon Theater, Saturday May 29th. The feature movie will be “From Here to Eternity”. At the conclusion of the movie – “A Salute to Merle Travis” featuring Merle’s son, Thom Bresh.

I will plan to have more historic theatre documents on display that involve the Miller, Modjeska & Imperial and will recognize past theatre employees if your group can make it.
Hope to see you there.
Tlsloews says above that we are EMAIL on CT. It would cost more money to email the same stuff.
I don’t understand why we need a email when you and TLSLOEWS and me talk theatres. This is what CT is for,I mailed the question ED BLANK asked above our chatter about three movies that played at the IMPERIAL. IF anyone would know Bill would. He can send the answer by mail and i can type it on the IMPERIAL.
Mike…I know your daughter knows about email. Get her to help you…it won’t hurt…..much…..I promise!!! LOL
Hahahaha….oh somebody please help him……
Robin, i left a bunch of ideas for a get together on NATIONAL HILLS THEATRE site.
Did you have a bad day Mike? These post on C.T. are e-mail.
But you and Robin have good time talking .
NO i don’t know or have an email. Hell, i couldn’t cut a computer on until Nick told me about CT.
Mike you know what e-mail is don,t you?
YOU DIRTY DAWG. LOL.
Hahaha…Mike, you are so crazy! My COLOR will be back…just tied up with stuff right now. If I tell you why I will be off topic…..GET AN EMAIL ADDRESS!!! We are still planning as far as I know. And, we forgive you :)
Robin, you were adding so much COLOR to the IMPERIAL conversations. SORRY I MISSED THE IMPERIAL THEATRE REUNION.
Chuck, the old Ledger does not have Box office and Concession separate,so it could be Box and Concession together. They certainly must not have had Box office reports in those days. But when i was business our B.O.R’s were separate from the concession. In 1944-45 Ihave no idea. Each number you see like for “DAYS OF GLORY” is not a weekly gross but that days take. What were tickets then 30 or 40 cents a piece.
