John – I don’t know anything about the developers plans other than what’s been said already. I can confirm that there is nothing left of the Rainbow Theatre except for the shell.
It’s not dead in the water. I’ve spoken with both ACE and the company who is doing the actual restoration work. There is a lot of preparations that have to be made before construction can begin. It’s going to take time to recreate some of the interior details that have been lost over the years.

The projection booth was empty and not very memorable. I’ll check and see if I have any images of it though.

It’s already been sold and is currently being converted into a mixed use building.
The plans don’t call for any theater space in the building, so I assume it will be stripped.
