lynchct1 Yes 4 million in TIF.If you don’t agree ,then take it up with the village. We will never know about the cost of the bonds ‘now will we"?
Oh and don’t forget the sale of the south parcel that the “village agreed upon as part of the restoration effort and was also a "FREE GIFT ” from the Big Idea Corp.
So what is “taxpayer intervention?"
The Dupage Theatre is never on my realestate tax bill. And it would’t be if it was restored and in operation.
So again I must ask "what taxpayer intervention”?

What is “taxpayer intervention "with this RSC plan?

Challenger, spare me your blabbering. One only has to read your posts to know that you bring nothing credible to this website. You have been told numerous times by others that have no idea what you are talking about.
Let me ask again. What taxpayer intervention….Key word “what”

Lynch,ct1.Lets make one thing perfectly clear. The RSC proposal that was on the table would require only a $4 million TIF bond.AND that TIF bond wouldn’t be needed until year 2007.The facts are this.RSC would donate $100,000 per year for 10 years to the theatre portion. That is SIGNIFICENT PRIVATE DOLLARS.
BTW.The village of Lombard financial staff along with RSC and the Foundation ammended the development plan so there was NO shortfall in the financing. The RSC development was a fully funded plan. The village of Lombard agreed.
BTW. You don’t answer why you don’t protest the constant use of TIF by the village. You don’t answer why you don’t protest the use of GRANT money by the viillage.
Do us all a favor.Put another dollar in your record machine.
Everybody on this website is tired of your “OLD SONG” and “DANCE”

Lynch I don’t need a history lesson on the facts of the Dupage property.I have worked hard and long for the theatre.Talk about"taxpayer" funded theatre.Where have you ever heard about taxpayers ever having to pay for the restoration of the theatre?Spare us all your nonsense. You sound like a broken record. If you think GRANTS are not acceptable then protest ALL grants that have been accepted and used by the village. If you think TIF is not acceptable ,then protest the constant use of TIF by the village.
Spare us all from your constant dribbling and babblings.
The village of Lombard say’s “get as many grants as you can."
CT1 doesn’t like that idea. The village of Lombard dedicates $1 million in TIF for the theatre and CT1 doesn’t like that.
CT1.Just who made you mayor of Lombard.Who voted YOU as the honorary
watchdog of the theatre?Do you think you are a "watchdog” for the taxpayers of Lombard.Because if you do there are much bigger issues to clamp your teeth into. However everybody knows that your mission is the DEMOLITION of the theatre.

BTW.I am still waiting for an answer as to why all five development proposals for the Dupage Theatre property from 2003 to present were rejected buy the village board. If you are soooo concerned about something happening on that property then why wasn’t one of those proposals accepted. Now the board wants to demolish the theatre and “prepare” for development.Kinda makes you wonder just what is really going on.

“Trashing of realists.” That’s a good one for you.Trustee Sebby and Tross have been “trashing” the “Friends of the Dupage Theatre” for 5 years.
Where have you been?Earth to ct1 lynch.
The “reality” of the situtation is the “love” for the place is what has kept the place alive since it was given to Lombard as a gift by Big Idea Corp.Five years ,where all of the restoration efforts were scrutinized, disected, opinionated upon and lectured upon.No other development in Lombard has had to pass the “TEST” that the theatre plan and development has.NOT ONE.
Demolition Trustee Sebby wanted the theatre demolished back in year 1999.Kinda makes you wonder just what is going on.

True class.[NO CLASS] Point accepted…..You no NOTHING about historical preservation.Again, you are a fraud and a liar.
Your comments on this message board are “POINTLESS”.Find a website somewhere that preys on the type of trash that you peddle.“Misery loves company."
You embarass yourself on this website.Again you and your "little” group of theatre haters motives are quite transparent.

True class say’s “the building is not historical by any means. It is an ugly very smelly eyesore."
True class. Why don’t you just "GIVE IT UP."
The Dupage Theatre has received "HISTORICAL LANDMARK” status from

1 The Village of Lombard Board of Trustees.

2 The Landmark Preservation Council of Illinois.

3 The National Park Service.-National Registry of Historical Places.

4 The Lombard Historical Commission.

True class. Do you think you know more than the above mentioned? You know NOTHING about historical buildings.
The State of Illinois WOULDN’T give a $1 million GRANT for the Dupage Theatre restoration if it was a “ugly, very smelly eyesore”“
The National Park Service WOULDN’T give a $300,000.00 Federal Save America’s Treasures GRANT for the restoration if it was just an "ugly, very smelly eyesore."
True class.Once again you prove yourself to be just a fraud and a liar. You and your little group of theatre haters motives are quite transparent.
Dupage dude has EXPOSED you and your group of anti-preservation theatre haters as Frauds and Liars.
True class. Please stop embarrasing yourself with your comments.
Unless you are ready to committ yourself to the preservation the Dupage Theatre, your interest in these conversations is POINTLESS.

Dupage Dude. The Elmhurst Hospital medical center is “really” packing in the shoppers isn’t it.Give me a break.Whoever heard of a medical facility of that size in the “heart” of OUR historical district?

ct1 lynch. There was the R.S.C.and Associates proposal, there was the Neri proposal, there was the Norwood Builders proposal, there was the A.A.Rose proposal and then the latest R.S.C. proposal. All 5 rejected by the Village board of trustees. All included the sale of the south property as was agreed upon by a majority of the village board on October 17,2002.
Shall I go on ,because so far you are a LOOSER.
BTW.One million in TIF was also agreed upon by a majority of the village board.HUMMMMM.

True class. Why have all 5 development proposals from March of 2003 to the present been rejected by the board of trustees?

raymond
raymond commented about DuPage Theater on Oct 23, 2005 at 9:18 pm

Good points Rita.Keep it up.The theatre opponents will sink in despair when “ALL ” of the “true facts” come forth as to why the R.S.C. development proposal was rejected.

Here is a good one for all….While watching the Village of Lombard bulletin board on our comcast public access channel ,the Village of Lombard was “promoting” Christmas programming events that will be presented at the Tivoli Theatre in the Village of “Downers Grove"Ill. How about that for supporting your "Local Theatre”?
Go figure!

True class says"the vast majority of residents are simply sick and tired of waiting.“ For the record.Since March of 2003,till present FIVE yes FIVE development proposals for the Dupage Theatre and adjacent propery have come before the village board of trustees and ALL FIVE OF THEM WERE REJECTED by the village board of trustees. Then the village board votes to level the theatre and PREPARE for "REDEVELOPMENT.” Who is kidding who? Makes you wonder just what is really going on.
Some village trustees want us to believe that the property is a GOLDMINE in realestate values.Give me a break. If that was prime property it would have been sold by BIG IDEA CORP.and not given to the village as a gift.Spare me your babble about changing the look of the village’s historical district. Bulldozing the theatre,a building that is on the National register of historical buildings, will really change the look and feel of the village’s historical district.
Demolish the theatre and put up a PARKING LOT.That makes a lot of sense.Better yet. Demolish the theatre and put up a library.Sure. A new library will increase everybody’s realestate taxes and won’t generate any tax revenue for Lombard. We all know that won’t happen. You blabber about changing the “look and feel to this village with a "collosal” building in Lombard’s historical district.“
Why all of a sudden do YOU care about Lombard’s HISTORICAL DISTRICT?
If you are soooooo concerned about Lombard’s "historical” district ,then WHY are you in favor of demolishing the theatre?
Spare us your babbling ramblings. You just make a fool of yourself. You shouldn’t talk about Lombard’s historical district.Because YOU DON’T CARE!!
BTW. Are you willing to committ yourself to the cause of saving and preserving the Dupage Theatre that is in the very heart of our historical district?Yes or no?

Don’t "YOU” think it’s time you stopped embarrassing yourself on this theatre “PRESERVATION” website?Dupage dude HAS EXPOSED you and your group of ANTI-PREERVATIONIST theatre opponents as CHARLATONS,liars and frauds. This website is dedicated to the preservation of historical theatres.Your banter and constant babbling CONFIRMS your hatred for the preservation of ANYTHING.I suggest that you bring positive ideas to this message board about saving the Dupage Theatre,or just refrain yourself from all future posts.
The readers of this website have seen ENOUGH destruction of historical theatres. All in the name of[ “PROGRESS” …LOL]

CT says “ did your mind get theatre-ized by a neighbor who falsly accused the village board of open act violations among other things."
FYI.The Lombard village board WOULD have been in violation of the Illinois open meetings act.The agenda for the Executive closed session meeting was to discuss options available for the sale of the Dupage Theatre property.Excuse me SIR. [Mr. concerned taxpayer]Had that executive session occured, the Lombard village board would have been in DIRECT VIOLATION of the Illionois open meeting act.It was a Friend of the Dupage Theatre who called the village and protested this ILLEGAL exectuive session agenda.
BTW. For the record. After the theatre "friend "protested this ILLEGAL use of the exectuive session Lombard CANCELLED THE EXECTUIVE SESSION.
Yes CT.Open meeting act violations do occur.
It appears that a "FRIEND” saved Lombard from a court date with Illinois attorney general Lisa Madigan.

CT1 says “TIF is not a bad thing when applied correctly"
Didn’t you JUST say"What is the first letter in TIF stand for?T IS FOR TAX You just confirm everything that I have said about you.
How forgetfull you are. You sound just like a broken record.

raymond
raymond commented about DuPage Theater on Oct 21, 2005 at 7:45 pm

CT1.All you say is NO TIF for the theatre. If you are Soooo concerned about the taxpayers then again here is your chance to say to all “NO TIF for anybody.” But you won’t because you are NOT crusading on behalf of the taxpayers. You are on your own PERSONAL crusade to demolish the theatre and the more you deny it the more egg you put on your face.

raymond
raymond commented about DuPage Theater on Oct 21, 2005 at 7:08 pm

Concerned taxpayer worries about “unprecendented” village intervention via
TIF. CT1/2.You say NOTHING about “unprecendented” village intervention via TIF for GRANTS to BRIBE businesses into Lombard? Bribe money “grants ” with TIF.You must think it is OK because you never mention it. Aren’t you the one always preaching “GRANTS are TAXES”? If you are so concerned about no TIF then here is your chance to scream “No TIF for Anybody”. Really, all you care about is no TIF for the theatre.Your ideas are ridiculous and everybody knows that you have made the demolition of the theatre “your personal crusade”.
You could care less about the taxpayers. You are a FRAUD and everybody knows it.

raymond commented about DuPage Theater on Oct 21, 2005 at 6:27 pm

RobertR.The type of BLABBER that concerned taxpayer 1 and 2 spit out in the name of “saving the taxpayers ” is NONSENSE.
Never.Yes NEVER has there ever been any plans for the taxpayers to pay for the restoration of the Dupage Theatre. The project would have been abandoned long ago if taxpayers were to pay for the restoration. That was made clear time and time again by the “Friends.”

Challenger says"The Dupage is not going to be a “single screen theatre. "The plan is (was )to turn it into a preforming art center”. FYI ……The plan is to “restore” the theatre into a preforming arts center that may from time to time show a great film on a SINGLE SCREEN WITHOUT duplexing or triplexing of the theatre.
