Iron Man 3 had its world premiere in the US at this theater. How fitting, since Disney owns marvel. I wonder if Star Wars Episode VII will play here due to lucasfilm now owned by disney.
Return of the Jedi was shown again this past weekend for star wars weekend to celebrate it’s 30th anniversary on May 25th, weeks after the film had its world premiere at this theater. It was part of a festival.
This past weekend was Star Wars weekend, and when it comes to Star Wars, some of the films in the franchise, especially the first one, had its world premiere at the main auditorium in 1977. Now that was a premiere.
As a result of the cablevision bowtie transaction, several of the struggling theaters will close in may. Among them, Clearview 1st and 62nd in manhattan and chester cinema 6 in nj.
I wonder if the nfl draft will continue its run at the hall…seems that it’s a popular venue for nfl fans across america. As for awards shows, the Oscars should not play at this venue….it was meant to be in hollywood.
Ever since the AMC in Rockaway as well as the Cinemark in Stroud Mall opened, this theater has gone downhill. Projection issues, poor staff, overpriced food, tiny screens that look like one of those vizio tvs.
Price wise, this is the most expensive of the three AMC 16 plexers in northern NJ. If you ever want to know more about dolby atmos, then search the AVS Forum for it. Quite a few movies are coming out this year in it, including Star Trek Into Darkness, Oblivion, The Heat, and the Hobbit part II.
I noticed it too. There’s also a youtube video of paramount’s 1985 lineup featuring some movies that would never come out or come soon…like the jetsons movie that universal picked up.
On May 19th 2013 this theater will shut down due to Clearviews sale to Bowtie. After that only clifton commons is left.

This is similar to the godzilla issue in 1998.
Ok.
Advance tickets for iron man 3 are postponed due to a fracas between disney and the theater chains.
on a more serious note, pray for boston…..
Thanks. What was the last 70mm movie played at this theater?
Amc wont own that theater. Maybe regal?
That picture on this page shows a screen thats quite small. Is this from the early years or when it was divided?
Google paramus park movie theater and it will have links.
Looks like the paramus park mall will have a new theater to compete against this one according to nj.com.

Since I last spoke, this theatre once again has competition from neighboring Newark.
