Don, It opened as the El Rey Theatre (in 1940’s and 1950’s editions of Film Daily Yearbook), then (I believe) its final times as a movie theatre it was re-named Reel Theatre. It has now gone back to its original name El Rey.
The Caley Picture House can be seen in this vintage 1959 photograph; It’s the dark building jutting out, mid-distance on the right, just beyond the bus: http://flickr.com/photos/allybeag/838615722/
Despite the fact it was then operating as a Mecca Bingo Club, the Commodore Cinema hosted two concerts by the Rolling Stones pop group on Sunday 10th January 1965.

lostmemory; Sorry not available on DVD. It was released here in the UK on VHS tape back in 1992 by Warner who first released it in UK cinemas in 1962 (ABC release in Associated British Cinemas when I first saw it). It’s a good film, I watched it again, on TV here in London, a few months ago. It’s in b&w though.
The ‘Miss B. Elmore’ billed on the poster pictured above was actually Belle Elmore, a music hall artiste and wife of Dr. Crippen, who murdered her in 1910.
