As i was president of the merchant assoc. and a consultant for the Suffolk theater in 1994- 95 i can tell you the town has its problems but not at all as you have said.
The mattituck theater has been an indi theater most of its life other than the few years cineplexodeon ran it . The shopping center owners now run this theater .
As a twin this theater box office #s were very weak even in the summer.A nice local theater that closed i think in the late 90s

Very true kind of reminds me of the old Whitman theater in Huntington had 780 seats.
YERY POOR ,CRACKHOUSE INFESTED MAIN STREET??Riverhead is noHamptons but only a small section is poor . Just average folks….
I WOULD THINK THAT THEATER WAS 750 OR 800 SEATS/ SOME ONE MUST HAVE THE SEAT COUNT FROM THE OLD INDOOR.

cinerama name had not been used for years so when you talk about the era of landis and schwartz you should call the theater warner twin.
