WGAC Radio Personality George Fisher was the Host of the Tuesday Moring Ladies Shopper Movies at National Hills.During the Seventies and into the Eigthties.Everyone enjoyed working with Mr.Fisher he treated everyone the same from the Doormen to the business owners in the Shopping Center that put the movies on,and they were pretty recent films shown.Sept 26 1980 George Fisher was hosting one the last ones ever at National Hills,seems like by then a lot of ladies were holding a job down and not out shopping on Tuesday Morning.
I never thought of it ,but why take off the Glasses.they shouldn’t have to tell folks that.The Glasses stay on all the time I would think.Great Comments on IMAX.
Mr.Adams our Projectionist favorite Star Dolly Parton in “NINE TO FIVE” everytime that title song came on he blasted the song in the Booth.Starts Dec 19 1980 for a big Christmas Movie.Large Crowds.Playing in Columbia One, Columbia Two has “SEEMS LIKE OLD TIMES”.not too bad for the Holidays.
August 27 1982 Southside Cinema is playing “RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK” and Ray has a Western Film Matinnee on Saturdays,This day was ‘LONE PRAIRIE" and “RED RIVER VALLEY”.
Sept.3 1982 and “TRON” is playing with Western Film Matinee evey Saturday.
Dec.22 1967 has the 1930 “DRACULA” with Bela Lugosi and the 1930 Boris Karloff “FRANKENSTIEN” playing.Advertised as the Un-cut versions!Very odd booking for the late sixties.We played both features on a Late Show at National Hills in the middle 70’s and did okay for two nights.
Rather odd Title, “September 30. 1955” I think it was about James Dean.It played a week and was history.It played on Sept 15 1978 in Columbia One. “Eyes of Laura Mars” is doing good. “REVENGE OF THE PINK PANTHER” is next for Columbia One.
