Goodrich made the decision to remove the box office about two years ago in an attempt to make the lobby appear spacious like the neighboring Emagine’s lobby. Tickets & concessions were then to both be sold at the concession stand. Traffic continued to slump until Goodrich matched the neighboring Emagine’s $5 matinee shows, which, until then, cost $7 at a smaller, mustier venue.
The “GDX” stands for Giant Digital Experience, Bob Goodrich’s take on large formatting 4K projection with Dolby Atmos. The theater offers 3 box office lines, one self serve ticketing kiosk, and 6 concession lines. Auditoriums 1, 2, 6, and 7 have approximately 115 seats. Auditoriums 3 and 5 have about 200 seats, and auditorium 4 (The GDX one) has about 290 seats. In addition, the theater has a party room. Auditorium 4 is currently under construction to include reserved seating and a floating screen. Auditorium 4 was added in 2004 along with a party room and a second women’s room.
Should be changed to Cadillac 4 w/ 4 screens. Goodrich made this change as a 100th anniversary event.
