There is good street view on Googlemaps, but I cannot figure out how to transfer the photo here. It is located not on Main St., but Chatham Hall Circle about one block off Main St. It is easy to identify as an old theater. From overhead it is easy to spot as well, since it is a quonset hut, still painted green. The front is white stucco.
The old Chatham Theater has not been demolished. It has not been used as theater in over 35 years however. Pittsylvania County owns the building now, but I am not sure how they use it.
The photo is not accurate. This Google photo is from South Main Street in Danville. The Capital was adjacent to the Hotel Danville in the 600 block of downtown Danville. The Hotel still stands as Danville House, an apartment building for disabled folks.
The 360 Drive in was not on River Street. In those days US 360 had a different route. It was located on Old Richmond Road, which is now Virginia Highway 360, not US 360.
