Heart Drive-In
A small Piper Cherokee 140 plane made an emergency landing, crashing at the left side of the Heart Drive-In’s traces causing a small fire on October 3, 1985.
Its pilot, Wayne Lanier of Portland, Indiana, who was piloting with two other friends from the Missouri cities of Forsyth and Warrensburg onboard, replied that he was unable to gain altitude and was forced to land at the drive-in. No injuries were reported, with the exceptions of a few scratches.
