The building wasn’t demolished as indicated here. The interior was gutted, and now the building is a Beverages & More store.

Saw many great movies at the Regency, including “Fantasia” and “E.T.”. Was a great place to see movies, but sadly run out of business by the more modern Galaxy Theater and the AMC 1000 up the street.
The Plaza Twin was actually quite a good theater in it’s time. Saw “The Toy” and “Beverly Hills Cop” when those first opened there. Really good sound system also.
Sad to hear of this place closing down. I saw lots of movies there when I was growing up. Saw lots of Disney movies there including a re-release of “The Love Bug” where they actually had a VW Bug painted exactly like Herbie parked right in the theater lobby!
I remember that theater quite well. The salt air from all the fog up there really rusted the theater marquee. I also remember they ran “Woodstock” there for what seemed like years in the mid 70’s!
The construction crew seems to be working very quickly at getting site of the Palm ready to start building the condo structure that will be going up. It’s a shame that nothing was really done to save the theater from the wrecking ball.

Another great theater from my childhood. Saw “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea” and “Journey To The Center Of The Earth” at the Fox Fremont.
