Back in the 70s and 80s, when this was an outdoor mall, the Northgate Theater was a rather large single screen auditorium. I believe it was even outfitted for 70mm presentations, and showed Star Wars in the day. It was located roughly where the food court is located now.
Was actually named the Ignacio Theater. I was Assistant Manager from around 1979 to 1981 or so. It seated 291. I don’t think any films were presented there after 1985 or so. Although it was a martial arts studio for some time in the late 90’s, and was occupied by the Novato Theatre Company for a while, the space has been renovated, and is now home to the Woodland Pet Food Store.
