I just unearthed an old real of family movies than depicts Harrison on July 2, 1927. Among other things, it shows the Biltmore theater which was showing Laura La Plante in The Love Thrill. Cool looking old movie house…
No argument about the posted opening announcement. But I remember my parents having passes for a pre-opening test event at the Ultravision. Not sure, but it might have been a screening of 1971’s The Trojan Women.
A great old drive-in. I remember the mosquito coils they used to sell in the snack bar. Also still remember opening night of Jaws in 1975 when Chief Brody first saw the shark – the scene startled a kid so much he fell off the top of his parents' car and jolted my vehicle – my date & I weren’t prepared for such a multisensory experience at the drive-in. So much for looking cool in front of your date…
Unbelievable ad! My mother dropped my brother and I off at the Coral Ridge in 1967 to watch Brighty of the Grand Canyon. I remember the theater more fondly than the film.

I’m pretty sure that I saw Blazing Saddles at the old Mercer Theater in 1974.
