My wife has advised me, as well as a number of other local residents, that the Western Plaza was open well into the 60’s, so it couldn’t have closed permanently in 1950. She recalls seeing movies there around 1960 and 1961.
I believe the Western Woods Cinema had a different name, either when it first opened or before it closed, but I can’t remember what it was. Any help out there, or am I just imagining this?

Actually the Western Hills Gold Circle Cinema was across the street from the Western Woods Plaza, which housed it’s own theater.
