I’m pretty sure I’ve found some images of the Los Feliz from 1950. They come from a public service film called ‘Dangerous Stranger.’ I’m posting them in the photo section – if someone would be so kind as to confirm they are from the Los Feliz, I’d appreciate it.
It seems that the Ritz Theatre was called the Murray Hill Theatre in 1915. I found a clipping in the Flushing Daily Times on October 9, 1915 which I just posted in the photos section.
I have many fond memories of the Hacienda in the late ‘80s and early '90s. Saw tons of movies there on the cheap. Towards the end it was a $1 movie house. I think The Addams Family was playing at the time it closed. It certainly wasn’t elegant, but it was great entertainment value.
Yes, the building was torn down when the Prospect closed in late 1986.
The Clay Theater is still operating. I walked by there today, May 4, 2015.

I saw Dances With Wolves there.
I’m afraid not, Mike. It sure was a beautiful theater, wasn’t it? How sad they let it be demolished, just like the Fox Theater here in San Francisco.
Mike, I did post them yesterday. Aren’t you able to see them?
Mike, I have some photos of the Orpheum that I’m about to post to this site.
