I was one of the projectionists at the UA WARNER 6 around 1985. This theater has a 70mm projection system in theater number two (the blue theater)
The Manager was George Gerard and his wife Kathy was the assistant manager. Their son Geordie was a projectionist in rotation and they seemed to have their infant daughter, Jennifer, at the theater all the time.
UA theaters had ousted its projectionist union by this time. Prior to 1985 the theater had been plagued with projectionist vandalisim. Platters of film being sliced and so on. By 1985 that was not a problem. It was a premiere place to see a 70mm print in the west valley. The sound system in theater 2 was maintained and delivered quality 6 channel audio.
I recall seeing BLACKBEARDS GHOST at this theater. I remember riding my bike from my house near platt and victory to see this film. I also recall BENJI screened there too. It was in the back of the Fallbrook Mall Near the JC Penney’s Auto Center. I dont recall this one being bought by chucky cheese but I do remember the LOWES screen in calabassas off of valley circle being down for some time as a half renovated chucky cheese.
I remember this theaters demise. This was the theater where I saw YOUNG FRANKENSTIEN and it was always dear to me. It was purchased by the company that at the time ran CHUCKY CHEESE. It was in the process of becoming a Chucky cheese when the company fell ojn hard times. The conversion was never completed and the theater sat for quite some time as a freakish abandoned theater with odd chucky cheese gear half installed. It was a sad way to see a theater die.
I do recall it had live performances while it still showed films. In fact I remember on one occasion that the marquee read “TONIGHT STEPPINWOLF 8:30pm” I thought it was for a movie about the band…
I was wrong. It WAS the band.
I recall this theater having the Pussycat marquee in the early 80’s
I recall this being build in the late 70’s possibly 1978.

After it closed it became a discount beverage store called MGM LIQUOR.
I remember it as an ART film house in the early 80’s

I remember that damn slide next to the theater. That big yellow slide!
I used to work as a projectionist down the road at the US warner six.
I remember this little theater just a stones throw away from the IHOP and across from CANOGA HIGH. The theater became a luggage shop after it closed.
I saw a double feature at the ART.
TOMMY and MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL. God that was in the mid seventies.
