Just came across this article as it pertains to this thread. A 12 screen theater is coming to the Broward Mall (now Westfield), called the Regal Cinemas Broward Stadium 12.
I remember seeing a few movies here in the late 80’s early 90’s but the theater was kind of out the way from where I lived and never frequented it much. One thing I do remember about the interior was the mini arcade with a few games to the left side as you walk in. I ended up passing the time there a bit while waiting for my parents to pick me up after the movie was done. However nothing else really stood out about it other than it was oddly positioned in a plaza that ran parallel to I-595.
Saw a multitude of movies here growing up. I remember hanging out in the Fountains on lazy summer days seeing all the first run blockbusters this place had to offer. Killing time at the old Circuit City right around the corner was a normal thing to do while waiting for the movie to start. Or sinking a lot of quarters into the old Final Fight machine they had in the lobby/concessions area. One great memory was going to see Mortal Kombat opening night with my brother back in 1995 and all the kids in the theater getting up on their chairs and dancing when the techno intro blasted during the opening credits.
Great memories of this theater when it was FOX Sunrise. Was one of the bigger and nicer multiplexes in the area at the time. Saw a lot of first run blockbusters there including Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park. Only been there once since then when it was managed under Sunrise Theaters back in 2008 to see The Dark Knight.
Wow, I can’t for the life of me remember this movie theater ever existing. Maybe I just never noticed it since I used to frequent either the Mercede, Broward Mall 4 or the Fountains. Is that Google Maps street photo accurate? Was it where J Ristorante is presently? Any help on remembering this theater would be greatly appreciated.

It will supposedly be located somewhere between Macy’s and JC Penneys.
If I’m not mistaken there is also another entrance to the complex off Sunrise where the Quizno’s Subs is.
Great memories of this theater. Last movie I remember watching there was a late night screening of The Godfather Part III back in 1990.
