An April 12, 1968, newspaper article reported that the old Mondo Adult Theatre would be renamed Academy Adult Mini Cinema located at 114 W. Mian St. It says seating capacity has been reduced to 150 for better comfort.
The first newspaper ad I’ve found for the Westwood Theatre was dated May 22, 1969, and this an announcement that read “The Westwood Theatre is Coming Soon!”
On the web site Okie mentioned above I found a movie ad listing for May 04, 1967 for the Capri Adult Theatre. The ad headline read “TORRID, SENSATIONAL ADULT ENTERTAINMENT” two double features “HOT NIGHT on CAMPUS” and “REPULSION”.
So the Capri was open at least up to that date.
This was where my best friend and I used to hang out just to enjoy being young, full of energy, and spending time with all our other friends. It was always my favorite place to see a movie too.
At the tres cajones I saw gay double features produced by Kris Films, “Motor Cycle Hero”, and “Blue Rose” which had recieved honorable mention at the Cannes Film Festival.

Seymour; were those lint specks moving? They could have been lice or crabs.
Also on Google Maps there is a large theatre visible on the corner of Commerce and Grady. Anyone know anything about it?
