The Teton Vu was reopened in 2009 by the operators of the Paramount Twin and Holiday 3 theaters (Paramount Twin, Inc.). It was an intermediate run with a $5 adult admission price.
The Plans for the 80’s remodel of the Holiday 3 are dated June 14, 1984. It is possible that the remodel was done later (1988) But I would be more inclined to believe it happend in 1984 shortly after the offical plans were drafted to add an auditorium and split the first into two auditoriums.
Some of the confusion about the rex/romance may be because there is a newer theater (475 N 2nd E) that is now called The Rex. It was built around 2005 (don’t quote me on the year) and was first operated by American Family Entertainment Centers (AFEC). After a few years of struggling, AFEC left and the property owner hired out management of it and the name was shortly after changed to “The Rex”.
The Paramount Twin was opened in 1990. It was converted from a dress shop to a movie theater. In February 2008 they began operating the neighboring Holiday 3 that was formally owned by Carmike.
After a few months of trying to survive at $1.50, carmike closed the Holiday 3 around the end of 2006. The neighboring Paramount Twin began operating it in February of 2008 and it is now operating at the same $3.00 ticket price as the Paramount Twin. It was upgraded to all DTS digital sound and completely renovated.
