This theatre is sorely in need of upgrades. After AMC took over, they changed the sign, installed new Coke freestyle machines and started a new pricing policy. But the seats look to be the originals from 1999 and the facility needs some TLC in order to compete with what is on the other side of town.
Marcus renovated the theatre in late 2017-early 2018. All seats are now reclining seats. Two of the auditoriums are SuperScreen DLX with heated seats. Fred’s Drive In has been replaced by Zaffiro’s Express and a Take Five bar/lounge has been added in addition to new carpeting throughout the theatre.
The Pines Mall 8 reopened in mid 2016. The ownership of the Pines Mall decided to reopen and operate it themselves as the Pines Cinema 8 after unsuccessful attempts to attract another company to run the theater.
