Quite a shame, I just went to this link right after posting my message above: /theaters/4432/
It appears it is gone for good. RIP Mission Drive-In! Definitely the last of an era, without question.

SHAME!! I was just asking about this on another part of the site (link below). So is it gone? SO many good memories there, and i’m only in my early 20’s. This truly saddens me. I wish there was something we could have done. I would have loved to go there regularly, but it became increasingly difficult as I live on the far Northside of San Antonio and you all know of the current gas/economical downward spiral…
Having said that, I guess it’s understandable. RIP!

I now go to the Paladium at The Rim off La Cantera as it is much closer to home, and while it is an extremely nice theatre, it’s not quite as special as The Mission Drive-In was; but then again, not many things are these days!

Lovely photos Lost Memory! Quite a fitting username as well.

Same here, bubbles (I know it’s been over a year heh).

I was just talking about this with my parents the other night and was curious so I decided to look it up. Is it still operational? My parents mentioned it was closed down which would be a shame. So many good memories there. I would love to go back and make it a regular thing with family and friends even though it’s quite a drive from the Northside. I will bookmark this site and check back in case anyone has any more information.

Does Mr. Santikos still own it? My father knows him as they have done business in the past, so it would be nice if my father can still get in touch with him in the event he does still have ownership.

Thank you.
