I lived in Sigourney in 1973 and 1974. My dad and I saw quite a few movies at this theater during that time: a couple of Woody Allen comedies, Legend Of Boggy Creek, Pippi Longstockings, McQ, just to name a few. The theater closed down, I believe, around the end of 1974; when we returned to the area in 1975, it was closed.
According to my dad, who was in grade school at the time this theater shut down, one of the last movies to play at this theater was Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho”.
