Birdville Historical Society to meet March 6
The Birdville Historical Societyâ€\s March meeting to be held March 6, at 7:00 p.m., will include guest speakers who attended the Historic Haltom Theater as a child, courted their first love at the theater, or visited the theater as newly weds. The histocial society invites the members and the public to bring your friends and feel free to share your own story.
Enjoy with us classical guitar melodies performed by Jason King of “King and His Courtâ€, followed by a guided tour of the theater, viewing of the Birdville Museum displays and complimentary refreshments.
Birdville Historical Society solicits your interest in community arts. Help us preserve a small part of history, make good use of what we have, instill in our children the value of history and the arts, promote cultural diversity within the community and allow our descendents to witness the nostalgia we have enjoyed.
The Haltom Theater will open its doors once again on December 8th and 9th, 2006 for a 65th Anniversary Celebration. The Friday, December 8th event is by invitation only, but please join us on December 9th when the theater will be open to the public. The celebration will include an art gallery, historical exhibit, Belknap Revitilation exhibit, tours of the theater, showing of old movies, cartoons, serials, and commercials, interactive art, etc. The Haltom Theater will be open on December 9th from noon to 5:00 PM. Please join us for this historic event. The address of the theater is 5601 Belknap Street at the intersection of Belknap and Denton Hwy in Haltom City. This event is hosted by Birdville Historical Society, Haltom Community Arts Committee and ARTSNET. For more information you may visit our website at www.haltomtheater.com or email us at
