A 1987 Highlight – The historic Tennessee Theatre (Nashville) building, standing tall here July 14, 1987 on Church Street, was sold at auction for $1.215 million to General Electric Credit Corp., the only bidder. The structure was put up for sale by J. Michael Tomlin after he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Howell George P & Son Realty & Auction Co. and Stevens Jim Realty & Auction Associates did the auction for the landmark building that listed on the National Register of Historic Places - NPS.
