“Here is a 1959 photo in Joliet, Illinois looking from Route 66 and the sign on the left showing the turn to Wilmington on Alt. Rt. 66. And you can see the iconic Rialto Theater up on the left playing "Pillow Talk” starring Doris Day & Rock Hudson, circa 1959. “Joliet, Illinois was incorporated. Louis Joliet and Father Jacques Marquette camped on a mound in the Des Plaines River in 1673 while returning from their journey of discovery. The spot became known as Joliet Mound. James B. Campbell laid out the town in 1834 and named it for his daughter.
