“Here’s another view looking east down Third Street from Brady in March of 1963. This photograph shows some of the businesses on the south side of the street including, LaFemme Shoppe, women’s clothing, 111 E. Third Street; Brud’s Tavern, 115; Kurtz Carpet Company, 119; Bawden Bros. Inc., advertising agency, 121-123; Paul’s Billiard Parlor, 125; Senate Cafe, 127; Stop-N-Snack Restaurant, 129; and Roy’s Tap, 131.

Playing at RKO Orpheum Theater was “Son of Flubber” starring Fred MacMurray, Nancy Olson and Keenan Wynn.

Pictured on the north side of Third Street is the Mississippi Hotel, Mississippi Hotel Barber Shop, 110 E. Third Street; Dial Finance, 112; Lewis Cleaners, 114; and the RKO Orpheum Theater, 116-118, Sportsmen’s Lounge tavern, 120; Herman J. Ziffren pawn broker, 124; Louisiana Bar-B-Q restaurant, 126; Siegel Loan Co., 128; Brooks One Thirty Grille tavern, 130-132; and Lindburg’s Coin and Stamps Shop, 134."
