Katie, I drive I-5 from Seattle to Olympia once a month or so and those same memories of seeing a glimpse of a movie from the backseat of my parents' car come flooding back every time I see those poplars still standing sentinel over a drive-in theater now long gone. Sad times.
When I was a kid growing up in Olympia in the late 70’s/early 80’s, the Skyline was showing X-rated movies. My friends and I found their ads in the Daily Olympian very interesting and always tried to figure out ways we could sneak in. However, their ads all stated “If you can’t open your trunk, don’t come.”
