I was in Amsterdam in 2007 and saw Little Miss Sunshine here. I’d seen it already at home in New York, but wanted to see it again. Seeing here was like seeing for the first time again. I’ll go again the next time I’m in this awesome city.
This is stiill one of my favorite theaters in New York. I grew up in north New Jersey, and in the 80’s my local theaters carded for R rated movies. When Halloween 5 came out, this theater let me in without asking if I was 17, which I wasn’t to be for a few months. Now that I live in New York City, I try to go here as much possible.
The place may have history, but it’s a dump.
I’m sad about this closure.
Please, save this place. The Bronx only has two theaters. Talk about underserved.
I walked by today. So sad to see it go.
I’m so sad this place closed.
I visited Vancouver in 1996 and saw The Cable Guy at the Granville. A nice memory.
Awful.
This was my favorite place to see a movie in NYC. I really miss it.
I loved coming here.
I lived in Las Vegas for a short time in 1998 and it was a Rega;/UA.
I loved coming to this theater because I like helping support the few single screen theaters that are left. Very sad. :–(
Does AMC or regal have any plans for new theaters in NYC. We haven’t had a new theater open in ages.
I was just there today for the first time. An OK theater. I’m shocked to see Cineplex Odeon signage.

Great photo! I remember it so well.
I grew up in South Orange and went here often as a kid.
There hasn’t been a new theater in NYC in years. Are there any plans of any?

This is an OK theater, but how does it stay open?
I’ve never had a mouse problem here. I like this theater.
I want to like this theater, but I just can’t. It’s too far.
This was an OK theater when Loews was still here. It’s gone WAY downhill since AMC took over.
My favorite theater when I was a kid. I’ll always remember seeing my first movies here.
This was the worst theater I ever went to. It always smelled bad, the popcorn gross. Good riddence.
