Image & notes by North Little Rock History Commission
North Little Rock Times December 27, 1940, ran an ad on movies shown that week at the newly opened Liberty Theater at 313 Main Street. Double features were a hit. The Saturday night movie was “Man About Town” starring Jack Benny and Dorothy Lamour. Note the admission prices: Matinee 10 cents, Nite 10 cents and 15 cents. Remnants of the theater are still visible at Thomasson Furniture Company in the E.O. Manees Building.
