When Great Eastern Highway was still Guildford Road, cnr of Guildford and Norwood Roads, Rivervale….20th January 1934.

Note: Located behind the accident you can see the bill boards for the Ascot Theatre Rivervale. The theatre is just out of site to the left. We notice that the Picture Gardens that sat alongside the theatre is yet to be built.

Smash on Belmont Road 20th January 1934 published in the West Australian 22nd January 1934. - Quote - “After smashing into a milk cart, a motor car collided with a telephone pole at the corner of Guildford Road and Norwood Road, Belmont late on Saturday afternoon. The pole snapped off about three feet from the ground bringing down all the telephone wires in the northern and eastern country centres.
